Places

During my Watson year, I will be visiting the places on earth where people live the longest. The physician Alexander Leaf identified four of them on his National Geographic expedition in the early 1970's, and the adventurist Dan Buettner identified three more on his expedition in 2003. The British nutritionist Sally Beare found one more in her explorations. Along the way, I will visit NGOs, non-profits, local organizations and cooperatives, hospitals, healthcare systems, farms, and much more. Through all of this, I will see how we can integrate healthy food and nutrition into the healthcare sector in a more serious way for the sake of our health and the health of the environment.

The places in orange are the "Blue Zones" that National Geographic explorer Dan Buettner identified on his longevity expeditions in 2003.
